I went a little photo heavy on this post. I got carried away taking photos and post processing. Anyway, I hope you enjoy. 🙂
When my sister Joy received Kama Ayurveda‘s Ayurvedic Facial Box from India over six months ago, I have to admit I wasn’t jumping up and down to try it but I was curious enough to search it online. My expression changed from “hmm” to “ooh” as I learned that many high-end hotels and spas around the world use Kama Ayurveda.
I played esthetician and tried it on my sister as I wasn’t adventurous enough to try it myself. I saw her skin brighten and she said her pores tightened. I still wasn’t convinced to try it until last week when my co teachers and I went to the Lincoln Place in Tagaytay for an overnight Team Building Activity. We were treated to a one-hour full body massage and we brought the Ayurvedic Facial Box for everyone to try. All the girls loved it!
It was then that I decided to give it a try. I enjoyed the results more than the process. But you know girls, we can endure the ick factor to achieve aesthetic results.
This luxurious treat is exquisitely packaged in gold and beige classic damask printed box with a little card containing information and instructions.
The box comes with a 200mL Steam Distilled Pure Rosewater in a plastic amber bottle, a 40g Mridul Soap Free Face Cleanser and a 40g Lavanya Natural Plant Mask both in tin cans.
I find the tin cans delightfully cute.
The Pure Rose Water smells amazing. The fragrance is very authentic but not overpowering. It is used to mix with the Mridul Soap Free Face Cleanser and Lavanya Natural Plant Mask.
STEP 1. You start with mixing a tablespoon of Mridul Soap-Free Face Cleanser and a bit of the Pure Rose Water to a paste. You apply it on the face and gently massage like a facial scrub. This didn’t glide on smoothly since the powder doesn’t really dissolve and I found the smell quite acrid. Imagine marinating your face in curry mix. Don’t let that turn you off though because this provides really good exfoliation.
STEP 2. Similar to the first step, you mix the Lavanya Natural Plant Mask with a bit of Rose Water to achieve a pasty consistency. This was less pungent with a bit of sweetness reminiscent to cinnamon but I felt some itchiness so I rinsed it off after 10 minutes. According to the instructions, while you’re letting it work for 20-30 minutes before rinsing with cold water, you will feel a tingling sensation. But that fades after 5 minutes or so. This mask thoroughly removed the excess oil off my skin.
In conclusion, the whole experience was interesting and I was very happy with the results. It left my skin well exfoliated, finer, radiant and it tightened my pores.
