December Glamourbox

December Glamourbox2If I have to describe the December Glamourbox in a few words, I’d say fresh yet familiar. The brands featured this time are all new but not too foreign, but not too mainstream either.

Themed Holiday Glow, the box offers 6 cosmetic products promising to keep you glowing and radiant this holiday season.  I really like that they didn’t repeat any of the brands or products from the previous box. Some glamour points for that. After all, the point is for subscribers to try different products from different brands.

December Glamourbox3I’ll start with my favorites.

OBAGI Nu-Derm Foaming Gel.jpgI’ve always been intrigued with the brand OBAGI. Formulated by dermatologists, it’s a scientific skin care system developed primarily for dermatology and aesthetic related concerns. I guess I still haven’t quite gotten over using skin medicine to keeping skin healthy problem free. I’m really excited to try the OBAGI Nu-Derm Foaming Gel. It claims to leave the oiliest skin clean and fresh.

SKINFOOD Gold Caviar Toner and Emulsion.jpgSKINFOOD is a popular Korean cosmetic brand known for using natural food ingredients. The idea is novel and unique and I’ve always wanted to try the brand but couldn’t decide where to start –the same feeling I get when I’m in front of a buffet table. SKINFOOD’s Gold Caviar Toner and Emulsion easily caught my eye because these two were the most festive looking in this box. Gold and caviar are supposed to have anti aging properties which helps moisturizes and revitalizes the skin.

VMV Subtle Shine Girl Next DoorI was really excited when I saw Glamourbox included a VMV Subtle Shine Lipstick this month because I love the Strawberry Fields shade which I featured in my September Favorites.  The Subtle Shine line is moisturizing and lasts for a few good hours. Don’t let the shade Girl Next Door fool you. It may appear like a dark mauve but it’s not super pigmented. In fact, you kind of have to work it a bit before the color comes out. You hardly get any color with just one swipe. I had to swipe it 5 times to achieve a nice burnt nude apricot with a hint of sheen. Not a shade I see myself wearing a lot but it’ll be a good game changer in my lipstick collection.

KOSMEA Hydrating Water MistI’ve never heard of the brand KOSMEA before but I love water mists especially rosewater. Rosewater is a natural astringent which helps hydrate the skin, restores pH balance and minimizes pores. I use the DHC Rose Water every now and then and I reviewed Kama Ayurveda’s Pure Rosewater.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water GelThe Neutrogena Hyrdo Boost Water Gel promises 200% moisture and protection from the daily stress that affects your skin.

ISSEY MIYAKe L'eau D'IsseyIssey Miyake’s Leau D’Issey is Glamourbox’s featured fragrance for December. This is a classic and the scent is very clean warm and comfortable. According to Sephora the style is fresh, warm and sparkling. Perfect for the Christmas season. The Issey Miyake Sport for Men sample was a bonus.

    1. Hi May! Facial mists in general hydrates the skin and tightens pores. It helps restore the skin’s radiance and glow. It can be used throughout the day. You can use it after washing the face to prep it for makeup or for other cosmetic treatments. When the skin is hydrated it can easily absorb the products you apply such as moisturizers, anti aging creams, correcting serums. And when you’re out or at work, you can just spray it to freshen up 🙂

  1. you must tell me how you like the skinfood o.o i have seen that line but never tried it. many skinfood lines don’t agree with me, but the avocado is amazing.

  2. Skinfood is pretty popular here in Malaysia too! I’ve been a long time user of Biotherm but never really tried Skinfood skin products, let me know if it’s any good! Also, hello from wordpress weekend hop! 🙂
