If BB cream is a multi-tasking skincare product, Chaz Dean’s Wen Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner claims to be the haircare multi-tasker. This was one of the products I got from the box full of beauty treats I won from the Lady Loves Beauty Blog Giveaway last February and the product I was most excited to try.
According to the Sephora website, it promises to do all the functions of your shampoo, conditioner, treatment, leave-in conditioner and detangler to keep your hair in tip top shape: Improved hair condition, reduced frizz, moisturized and shiny. Hmmm…sounds too good to be true.
The scent is probably the best thing this product has to offer. The combination of sweet almond and mint smells amazing! The best scented hair product I’ve ever tried. As for its multi-tasking functions, I’d say it accomplishes 2 out of 5. It’s a good conditioner and detangler. After using it several times, I felt my hair was well conditioned and it helped tame the wild tangles.
I have to say this is not the most economical hair product. For it to properly function as a shampoo, you have to apply a lot of it. The recommended amount is 10-15 pumps or more if you have thicker or longer hair. I used it as a shampoo twice but I noticed it didn’t really do much cleansing as a shampoo would. I ended up shampooing my hair again using a different shampoo just to feel that my hair and scalp was rid of all the dirt and oil and build up.
While it is free from Sulfates, synthetic dyes, petrochemicals, Phthalates and Triclosan, it does contain silicone. So to cleanse, rinse and repeat plus use it as a leave-in conditioner, you’re gonna need a good clarifying shampoo to avoid hair build up.
In conclusion, it’s a good conditioner that really helps detangle hair. But to fully enjoy the complete package it offers, be ready to stock up because one bottle won’t go a long way.
A 480 mL bottle retails for $32 at Sephora. Might not be available in the Philippines.
